Barre, centre, jumps: the class follows the classical structure, the one that has worked for three centuries.
We take our time. Placement settles in year after year, and it is this foundation that makes everything else possible, in jazz as in contemporary.
At Atelier du Mouvement, in Nantes, children discover dance from age 4 in the early years class, then join the classical ballet class from age 8. Teenage and adult beginners are welcome at any age.
The right time slot depends on age and level. One call is all it takes to find yours.

Before you come
Leotard, tights and soft ballet shoes, hair in a bun. For the trial class, close-fitting clothing is enough.
A sub-discipline of classical ballet
Pointe work
Rising onto pointe, when the foot is ready.
Pointe is not decided by age. It calls for a strong foot and a well-placed back: Alexandra will tell you when the time is right, generally not before 11 or 12, and always after an individual assessment.
