Dance classes in Nantes

Rising onto pointe, when the foot is ready.

Pointe is not decided by age. It calls for a strong foot and a well-placed back: Alexandra will tell you when the time is right, generally not before 11 or 12, and always after an individual assessment.

From there everything is built step by step: rising, lowering, holding, then turning.

The right time slot depends on age and level. One call is all it takes to find yours.

Before you come

Classical attire and pointe shoes. Do not buy pointe shoes before Alexandra's approval: the model is chosen after assessing the foot.

The discipline

Pointe work, the culmination of ballet training

Dancing on pointe is not a stage to rush: it is the extension of solid ballet. It calls for a strong foot, a stable ankle and a well-placed back, built up over the years.

Our philosophy here is caution first. Alexandra decides on pointe work after an individual assessment, never by age, and generally not before 11 or 12. We then progress step by step, so that pointe stays a pleasure and never a risk.

A sub-discipline of classical ballet

Inseparable from the classical class

Pointe work is done alongside the classical class, never instead of it: it is the barre and placement that make pointe possible.
