Which activity for your child in Nantes? Dance

5 min read

Sport, music, dance: every new term, the same question at home. Why dance is one of the most complete activities for a child in Nantes, and how to choose theirs.

Choosing the activity, a real question

Every new term, the same question comes up: which activity for your child this year? In Nantes, the choice is wide, between sport, music and the arts. Dance has a rare advantage: it brings together in a single session what parents often look for separately. Physical exertion, music, discipline, and plenty of enjoyment.

What dance develops, beyond movement

An hour of dance is far more than just letting off steam. The child learns to listen to their body, to hold a posture, to memorise a sequence. They gain in coordination and balance, but also in focus and confidence. Going on stage once a year, in front of a real audience, changes a shy child. We talk about it in detail in "The benefits of dance for children" and "Dance and self-confidence in children".

From what age, and which class?

From age 4, dance awakening lays the foundations through play: rhythm, space, others. Around age 6, the child can start a discipline, often ballet or modern jazz. To know what suits their age, the article "What age to start dancing?" and our guide by age help you choose.

Wednesdays, after school, Saturdays?

The question of the time slot always comes up quickly. Our classes take place during the week after school and on Saturdays, and the exact day depends on age and discipline. Rather than guessing, give us a ring on 02 40 52 25 36: together we find the slot that fits your week.
