How much does a dance class cost in Nantes?

5 min read

In Nantes, there is no single price for dance: it all depends on what you dance. Here is what makes the price vary, the cost of workshops, and why you always start with a free trial.

A price that depends on what you dance

There is no single price for dance in Nantes, and that makes sense. The cost of a year depends on the discipline, the number of classes per week and the length of the sessions. A child doing one hour of dance awakening and a teenager stringing together ballet, pointe work and modern jazz do not pay the same. At the Atelier du Mouvement, the yearly rates are not shown online for this reason: they are worked out according to your choice of classes, and given over the phone on 02 40 52 25 36. One call, and you have the exact amount for your situation.

The price of workshops

Workshops, on the other hand, have a clear price: 50 euros for three hours of technique, in ballet and modern jazz, from age 9 and all levels. It is a one-off format, during the holidays, that you can try without committing to the year. To find out more, see the Workshops page and the article "Holiday dance workshops in Nantes".

Why the first class is free

Before talking money, there is the trial. The first class is free, all year round. We are keen on this, because a price tells you nothing about how it feels once you are in the class. Your child needs to feel comfortable in the group, and you need to feel that the teaching speaks to you. A trial says far more than a price list. If it does not fit, you try another discipline, or not. No obligation.

What the price really includes

A dance class is not just a slot in a diary. At the Atelier du Mouvement, you pay for teaching delivered by Alexandra Gérard, a state-qualified teacher trained in the Russian school, a studio fitted with a professional Allegro Harlequin floor that protects the joints, and a genuine artistic project. Every year, all the pupils take to the stage at the Théâtre Capellia for the annual show. The price of a year of dance is also this progress and this moment on stage.

How to find out the price for your child

The simplest way: start from age and interest with our guide "I'm looking for a class for...", identify the discipline or disciplines, then give us a ring. We give you the exact price and arrange a first free trial. And if you are getting ready for the new term, the article "Signing up for dance in Nantes for the new term" sets out the steps.
